Since Billy Walker acquired GlenAllachie in 2017, the core releases have all been made up of maturing whisky the current ownership inherited. Until now. The Meikle Toir line is the first set of core range bottlings produced entirely since the 2017 purchase. It includes three 5 Year age statement peated whiskies, and a limited annual release, the "Turbo". In this video, I discuss some of the strategies GlenAllachie has used in producing this young, peated variant. I taste, rate, and review the Meikle Tour "Original", which was matured in bourbon, virgin oak, and rye casks, comes in at 50% ABV, and boasts a PPM on the SPIRIT of 35.
