DELAYS IN PAYMENTS: IRS retirees say their retirement payments and leave checks never arrived after their Sept. 30 retirement date. They say they took the government’s deferred resignation program, filed paperwork and expected benefits to start in weeks. The IRS told retirees it is dealing with an unusually high number of September retirements and says contractors were brought in to help. An OPM director says some applications were still pending HR review and OPM pushed at least half of pending cases through automatically. OPM says about 29,000 cases are still sitting in a payroll pending status with no clear date for when the rest will clear. #IRS #OPM #FederalWorkers
