Feeling my punk rock anti-authority tendencies bubbling up... Sorry if this video offends you... but if it does, why? Just trying to connect some dots and figure out why the small craft cannabis farms are in serious threat of extinction... I embarked on a legislative journey earlier this year to introduce a bill that would have allowed small farmers to be more independent and be able to sell & ship their products directly to Medical Patients in California... and the trade groups who claim to represent the small farmers were the most hostile to the idea... After communicating with a number of farmers and individuals who have been involved in the Emerald Triangle legalization scene for years.... a picture is emerging... The trade groups definitely see a long term marketing value in the STORY of the small legacy farmer, but it is hard to find evidence that they actually care about the long term fate of the small farmers themselves... the small legacy farmer STORY sure has a lot of value for marketing and branding big rural economic development plans loaded with big corporate funding and government grants...the small legacy farmer STORY is for sale. It's a complex topic and situation with many complicated parts that may change over time, so would be curious to hear your thoughts. One thing we can all be sure of - if over half of small craft cannabis farmers in a region are out of business and the rest hanging by a thread... maybe it's time for some fresh ideas and fresh leadership? Punk rock & thrash metal perspectives seem to stand the test of time with their observations... punk doesn't usually provide solutions, but it does point out some problematic truths in our world... It's hard to criticize a government, when you are also taking their grant money. Finding solutions is where the work really starts. Thoughts? peace
