This Froebel Trust short film tells the story of how an early years setting has put outdoor learning at the heart of their work with young children. The team of educators at Tiddlers Wraparound, an early years setting in Wales, has recently completed the Froebel Trust Short Courses. Tiddlers has gone on to use a Froebelian approach to embed the new curriculum for non-maintained settings in Wales. This film tells their story and the difference making changes to their outdoor learning has made to young children and their families in the local community. "Children play outdoors every day, whatever the weather! Our children plant and garden all year around and use the produce that they grow to cook both indoors and outdoors." Beverley Dickinson, Manager at Tiddlers Wraparound Tiddlers Wraparound has been recognised as a Lead Setting - offering support, guidance and good practice to other nurseries and early years settings. Froebel was a pioneering educator who invented kindergarten. The word kindergarten actually means ‘garden for children’. Froebel’s vision was for a garden which offered space for young children's play and exploration, with educators making time for children to be in contact with nature.
