Twisted Potpourri Deryk Banks plays keyboards via Arcade, and Dennis Warren uses the Alesis MultiStrike. This music video features the street view of the well-known Copacabana’s Atlantic Avenue and concludes with a visit to the bohemian hilltop neighborhood of Santa Teresa. From my Bandcamp page, you can stream and download the soundtracks here: dennis.warren@bandcamp.com Rio Duets Improvisations de Janeiro music video features FMRJE’s free jazz drummer in both acoustic and all-electric duet settings with musicians from Rio. The video’s imagery includes stunning views from the Christ the Redeemer Statue and Parque Bondinho at Pão de Açúcar, as well as the streets and beaches of Copacabana, along with clips from the Feijoada da Escola de Samba Estacio de Sa show, the original samba school. The film’s soundtrack comes from two separate duet recording sessions: one features multi-percussionist Andrea Raccichini, a longtime member of Brazil’s original samba school Salgueiro’s Bateria Furiosa, who specializes in rhythms from Brazil, Uruguay, and Cuba; the other features keyboardist Deryk Banks, an artist and entrepreneur who uses Arcade for his music productions. Both sessions are unique; Andrea plays multiple percussion instruments, and Dennis plays the drum set and Alesis MultiStrike. Deryk's session is all electric, with him on keyboards and Dennis on the MultiStrike. This recording project was inspired by an invitation from my Antioch College friend Tony Colon, who lives in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, with his wife, Albervalda.
