How ND Filters Transform Your Photos and Videos

I’m in Switzerland! Playing with ND Filters! (I may sound a bit out of breath because the altitude REALLY got to me… I reviewed PolarPro’s ND filter set for smartphones a few weeks ago, and now the folks at PolarPro sent me a few of their new Cinema Series Quartzline ND filters to use with my Canon 6D Mark II. Even though these filters were provided at no cost to me, they asked me to be very objective and to put them through their paces. So basically, I promise this is an objective review. I do really love these filters, but I have still been using my cheapo variable filter for video just because it’s better for “run and gun” style shooting. I don't know if this counts as an ad or not, but I want to be 100% transparent in how I received these filters. They’re really terrific filters, and even though I prefer to use a variable ND filter for video (of which I’ll be purchasing a new, high quality one in the near future), these are PERFECT for still photos. They sent me an ND8, ND16, and ND1000 (!!) filter. Adding a few filters to your camera kit is a great “next step” if you’re getting more serious about improving the quality of your work. Compared to the cheap ND filter I’ve been using for the past few months, these are a massive upgrade.
