We started the day early, towing the boat to Jacksonville, Florida, with one goal: catching big wahoo fishing on light tackle and live bait. The morning kicked off strong. We caught several large blackfin tuna, red snapper, and kingfish. But the wahoo remained elusive—until mid-afternoon when we put out bonita and blue runner baits. It didn’t take long before the action heated up, and soon we were doubled up on wahoo! The bite was absolutely wild, unlike anything we’ve seen before. Even with a minor mishap—our friend Taylor getting a hook through his finger—the day was unforgettable. By sunset, we had eight wahoo on deck and were all super excited about the day we just had. As we always say - "we'd rather be lucky than good" ..and there's no doubt that we were.
