Terrible Home Depot Refrigerator Delivery Experience

We had an absolutely WILD refrigerator delivery experience from Home Depot on 6/20/2023. I recorded nearly all of it, and put together a 14 minute version of the ordeal that took more than an hour. Timestamps: 0:35: Talking nonsense about the new fridge being too tall (we verified all measurements direct with manufacturer) 2:03: Telling us that if he brings in the new fridge and it doesn’t fit, then we have to keep it and he can’t take the new one back. 2:10-3:00: Me questioning where it states in our contract that we have to keep it if it doesn’t fit (response: crickets) 3:20: Telling him to bring it in anyway and if it doesn’t fit, we’ll figure it out later (we knew it would fit) 3:40: He FINALLY starts to remove the old fridge 3:55: He says that he’ll have his boss call us to explain everything. 4:05: He tells us that the manufacturers don’t publish accurate dimensions of their products 🤔 5:15: Other guy starts laughing at us for asking so many questions 6:50: Tells me width of new fridge is 36.5 inches (which is totally wrong) 7:40: The start of an ABSOLUTELY EPIC conversation where he mixes up depth and width, and straight up lies about the dimensions of the fridge. I switch to the Ring footage here to demonstrate how he kept measuring depth as width. This goes on for two very entertaining minutes. 10:10: Delivery guy’s boss tells delivery guy that they’re wrong and that they DO have to take back new fridge if it doesn’t fit. 10:35: Delivery guy tells us to remove our front door (like not just the screen door, but our main heavy front door) 10:48: Delivery guy asks “where we going to put the new one?” And we’re like, in the spot where the old fridge was … 11:15: We ask for him to call back his boss since we vehemently object to needing to take off our door. 11:45: Guy tells his boss it’s better for us to remove the door for delivery. Boss responds to drivers “YOU DON’T HAVE TO TOOLS TO TAKE THE DOOR OFF?” 12:05: Delivery guy tries to say our door is “different” and that it can be “difficult” to put door back on (in which case, we definitely don’t want to remove door!) 12:30: Finally reveals that it’s more work for them to take the doors off the new refrigerator, so he wants us to take the front door off instead. 12:55: Finally acquiesces to remove doors to the new refrigerator instead of us removing the front door. 13:35: Fridge fits through front door 14:15: An absolutely satisfying sight of the new fridge fitting right into place.
