Part 2.Renee made me drive around the opal fields for hours then said stop! Opal is here, peg it!

Welcome to Part 2. In this video I follow my instincts and start to dig from on old open cut towards the trenches and it doesn't take long to realise we are onto something very special. It precarious work trying to decide where is ok to insert the jack pick and despite taking great care unfortunately I hit a couple of shells and break them. Regardless it is very exciting and rewarding as I find the best pocket of shells I have ever found. On the night I recall thinking there must be 15 to 20 shells and when calling Renee the next morning I told her maybe up to 30 but after tumbling and sorting i couldn't believe how wrong I was because there were over 100 shells! Not all the shells were full and had colour off course but the best of them have amazing colour. We always start a new claim with high hopes. Often we have a good feeling and good traces that raise those hopes even higher but it is rare that the starts align and reward us like they did in this story. Renee had a feeling and went with it and I had an idea that if there is good traces in 3 trenches there has to be something awesome somewhere nearby. Our hunches paid off for once.
