🛠️ This is where your component library truly becomes custom! This video is the first part of a two-part series where we show you how to build a complete, real-world component entirely from scratch in SolidWorks Electrical (SWE). To use a part not in the built-in library, you have to create a Manufacturer Part record. This record acts as the "container" for all the symbols, dimensions, and commercial data. In this foundational video, you will learn to: Create the Manufacturer Part: We'll dive into the database and define the commercial references, technical data, and terminal properties for our new component. Design a Multi-Wire Schematic Symbol: We'll build the primary, detailed schematic symbol used on your main drawings, complete with connection points and attributes. Linking It All Together: We finish by assigning our brand-new symbol to the custom manufacturer part record. This is a crucial skill for advanced SWE users! Once this is done, the component is ready for use on your schematics, ready to build your Bill of Materials. Stay tuned for Part 2 where we complete this part by creating the Line Diagram Symbol and the 2D Footprint for panel layout!
