How to make nian goa balls Ingredients About 200 grams Nian Gao, cut into cubed into 1.5cm 400 grm sweet potatoes (weigh after removing skin) 200 grm glutinous rice flour 100 grm sugar 2 tbsp corn oil 1 big heap tbsp of corn flour Half tsp salt Method Steam your sweet potatoes until very soft Using a stand mixer with K hook, blend sweet potatoes, sugar, salt and oil together until sweet potatoes are mashed Add glutinous rice flour and corn flour If necessary, add little hot gradually until a firm dough is formed Roll dough into balls Pressed nian gao cubes into dough Roll into smooth balls with no nian gao exposed on the outside Using slow heat, drop them into the oil placing them apart to prevent sticking to each other.
