Taking in the picturesque Cleethorpes coastline, a landmark 13.1 mile race for up to 1000 runners Organised by Tape2Tape in partnership with ABP, the first ever Humber Coastal Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 3rd. Race entries tickets are priced at £18 for affiliated runners, and £20 for non-affiliated runners. The cost of entry has been kept so low thanks to the generosity of headline sponsors, ABP. On a meticulously mapped route surrounded by Cleethorpes' "wonderful" coastal and countryside views, after a promenade start, the first two miles of the course will follow the seafront pathway behind the leisure centre and boating lake, for runners to enjoy sea views out across the River Humber. A route which will "showcase what Cleethorpes has to offer", the course heads past Thorpe Park and out towards Tetney Lock with wonderful countryside views. Runners will then loop back round along the trial that brings you back towards the holiday park, and out onto the seafront where once again you have the amazing views of the river and a spectacular promenade finish. A fun run, beach activities and entertainment will also take place on the day, with the half marathon getting underway at 10am. The fun run distance is yet to be confirmed but will start soon after the half marathon runners set off.
