In Luxembourg's Sûre valley, gnarled apple trees older than anyone can remember are at the centre of landscape restoration efforts! This short documentary explores the Born Farmer Cluster, where eight farms spanning 500 hectares of traditional high-stem orchards supply fruit to Ramborn Cider Co.—an award-winning B-Corp that has become a commercial anchor for landscape-scale conservation. Meet the cidermakers who discovered a genetic treasure trove of fruit varieties when they began sourcing apples and realised the trees were in crisis. The documentary follows citizen science BioBlitz events where families record hundreds of observations in a single afternoon, and examines how farmers watching their neighbours take risks has transformed farming practice across an entire valley. "Luxembourg is still like a small village," the facilitator explains. Part of the EU Horizon 2020 FRAMEwork project, working with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). This project established 11 pilot farmer clusters across 10 European countries to test landscape-scale approaches to managing farmland biodiversity, based on a successful UK model of 150+ clusters. @LISTLuxembourg_RTO @rambornciderco.9975 LEARN MORE!
