Trelawny (Trelawney) Song of the Western Men - in Belfast

I'm not from #Cornwall but I love this song. Whether it's #Trelawny without the "e", or Trelawney with, it's one of the finest ballads from the British Isles. Even with a rotten cold, I really enjoyed singing #Kernow's national anthem in honour of St Piran's Day. I was going to sing the version from The New National Songbook of 1905, but I think the more modern Trelawny's Shout variant is better, as it includes a rousing chorus not in the original. Apart from that, it's exactly the same as Rev Hawker's version. I was singing the song live on my Irish language radio show in this recording, so the intro and the information at the end are in Gaeilge. And, in case you were wondering, I'm not on commission from St Austell Brewery - it's just that their fine beers and ales were the first thing that came to mind when I was thinking of something that represents Cornwall! I'm not sure what #SaintPiran would make of it, but I really had fun making this little video and I hope that you enjoy it - even though I'm not #Cornish! Meur ras.
