While the S104 is probably the cheapest/simplest LD player ever made, most of the information applies to all other (post-)1995 Pioneer players. It covers mechanical and electrical adjustments, including replacing the spindle motor and pickup assembly, along with mechanical and electrical fine tuning adjustments. RF signal captured by my CLD-V2800, decoded by ld-decode, and processed into 720p60 with ffmpeg. - I originally thought it was because the disk was badly warped, but there was a memory leak bug in ld-decode's TBC code that I found and fixed before posting my Tuning Fork videos.
