The second volume of Ocean Dread comprises five nightmarish narratives set at sea, each, with the exception of Hodgson's 'The Mystery of the Derelict', carefully selected from the ever-yellowing 0:00:00 - Introduction 0:00:28 - The Harbor of Ghosts "The Harbor of Ghosts" by M. J. Bardine, first appeared in Weird Tales Magazine in June 1936. The magazine described the tale as follows: "A strange and curious weird tale of the sea, and the ghosts of ships that had foundered..." 0:21:40 - The Mystery of the Derelict "The Mystery of the Derelict" by William Hope Hodgson, was published in the July 1907 edition of The Story-Teller. As the title suggests, the story tells of a mysterious derelict, and of the danger it poses to the crew of an unsuspecting merchant vessel. 0:53:52 - The Jonah "The Jonah" by Guy Pain, first surfaced in Weird Tales in its August 1925 edition. It tells of a disreputable bosun, and a murder, with a touch of maritime superstition. 1:05:34 - Bells of Oceana "Bells of Oceana" by Arthur J. Burks, was first published in the December 1927 edition of Weird Tales. The story tells of an encounter with something deadly in the uncharted waters of the North Pacific. 1:40:22 - The Man Who Was Saved "The Man Who Was Saved" by B. W. Sliney, first appeared in Weird Tales in May 1926. In the story, the sole survivor of a wrecked ship tells of a terrifying encounter with a mysterious sea creature. 2:03:10 - Further Listening Ocean Dread Volume 1: • Ocean Dread: A Collection of Grim Sea Stories Bandcamp link: https://horrorbabble.bandcamp.com/alb...
