0:00 - Intro 3:38 - Preparing Supplies 8:20 - Getting Paint from Palette to Paper 17:45 - Practice with Dark, Medium and Light Values 43:15 - Practice with Basic Watercolor Techniques 1:05:06 - Paint Along: Apple Composition If you have never painted with watercolors (or any medium) before, this is the video series for you! I decided to make a series of lessons that I wish I could have found when I first started painting, presented in a sequenced manner to help you get started on the right track. Each video will be broken into several parts, the first half focusing on technical skills, theory and concepts, composition and other foundational knowledge needed to paint with watercolors and the second half features a paint-along. The first half of this video goes through the very basics of getting your watercolor paint on you paper, painting different values of the same color, and a few basic techniques. Then we will paint an apple composition together using those techniques. The reference photo for this paint-along can be found here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Jjwu38akxwW... In case you missed it, I have a video all about what supplies you need to get started here: • Watercolor Supplies for Beginners Disclaimer: I was pretty tired by the time I was able to film this but didn't want to wait (long days at work this week) so my words get a little fumbled here and there. Please forgive the occasional gibberish (like saying square brush instead of flat brush, lol) as my choice was video while tired or don't video at all this week. Paint colors used for the paint-along: Rembrandt Azo Yellow Medium Daniel Smith Quinacridone Rose Rembrandt Carmine Red Rembrandt Permanent Blue Violet Daniel Smith Burnt Umber
