"Çıkalım Sayd-u Şikare" is a composition of Tanburi Mustafa Çavuş. It is in Beyâtî makam. Tanburi Mustafa Cavuş was an Turkish composer 18th century. He was the son of Kadikoy Kadı Mehmet Efendi, hence the name "Kadı-zade". He was educated in Enderun and rose through the ranks to the rank of "Cavuş" according to palace traditions. In 1729, he worked as a lady's companion in Enderun. In 1733, a poem of his was proven to be in the "Güfte Mecmuasi” which was published that year. He used the pen name "Tanburi" in his poetry. He wrote poems in simple and straightforward Turkish with syllabic meter. With this quality, he is referred to as "Aşık" (rhymer). Mustafa Cavuş's style is extremely refined, graceful, sincere and fluid. Despite its 300-year history, his songs are still very popular today. His songs are enchanted with very beautiful melodies. They are works of art that will win the appreciation of everyone from the classic forms to the folk masses. This lively, charming, cheerful and striking style is easy to understand and reveal, and therefore sixty-four of his works have come down to us today, because it appeals to all tastes. Dr. Suphi Ezgi published 36 of his works through Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1948.
