Aimed at assisting litigants in person (unrepresented claimants), this talk starts to take you through the 2016 Administrative Court Guide to Judicial review: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads... It is not offered as legal advice, for which you will need to consult a lawyer. This talk deals with: the overriding objective of the rules of procedure you have to use in a judicial review case. Understanding how this works will enable you to make wise decisions at various points in the process and on what to ask the court to do; "serving a document" - when does the court think you have successfully sent something to someone, and when will it consider that you have received a document? Calculating time periods under the rules - how far ahead of a date must you do something or how long have you got to do something? Forms, Fees, the Court Office; Who the parties to your claim might be: Claimant, Defendant, interested parties, and interveners; Being a litigant in person; The duty to be candid and make full disclosure; Miscellaneous matters: How to talk to the judge, and keeping the court informed of your whereabouts. In the next talk I will deal with how to behave before starting the claim.
