We have worked on several projects where ultra-low dew point and ultra-low humidity is required. Our most recent project was to design and build a lithium battery manufacturing and R&D room, for Li-S Energy. The Room and Current Conditions • 0.1% Relative Humidity (RH) Dry Room • 20 - 22ۥ° C Temperature • -70° Dew Point • Hermetically Sealed Wall System • Sealed and Insulated Air Duct • Chiller and Desiccant Dehumidification Unit This dry room is one of the largest in Australia. It has a complex external infrastructure, including a large external chiller that works in tandem with a desiccant dehumidifier to dry the atmosphere. The dew point remains consistently below -50°C and the dry air is circulated into the dry room through a maze of sealed ducting and filtration systems. Contact Humiscope today. The unit was manufactured in Europe by Humiscope’s long-time supplier, TFT Dry Air Solutions. The room includes a sealed airlock that enables the production teams to enter and leave the dry room while preventing the external atmosphere from contaminating the facility. The dry room’s purpose is to provide a safe and stable environment for the manufacture of lithium batteries. The dry atmosphere enables the automated anode production equipment and Li-S Energy's team to operate at full capacity without the restriction of inert gas enclosures or glove boxes. Lithium sulfur battery chemistry has been known to battery scientists for quite some time, but until now cells always failed too quickly — making them commercially unviable.
