King Charles switches between fluent German and English as he delivers historic address

King Charles III made history on Thursday 30 March, becoming the first British monarch to address the Bundestag, Germany’s federal parliament. The monarch delivered the opening part of his speech in German before switching to English to share how important visits to the country were for his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II. Charles then continued his address, switching between German and English multiple times, and received a standing ovation after he finished.
