This limited-edition barchetta, derived from the Morgan Plus Six platform, celebrates the joy of open-air driving and combines Italian design finesse with British automotive heritage. Limited to just 50 units, all of which are already spoken for, the Midsummer marks the debut of the Pininfarina Fuoriserie badge in production models, promising potential future collaborations between Pininfarina and other automakers. Morgan’s rich history in coachbuilding makes it a natural partner for this inaugural project. The Midsummer showcases a blend of Morgan's timeless design cues with Pininfarina's signature flair. Hand-formed aluminum panels adorn the exterior, reflecting over 250 hours of meticulous craftsmanship per panel. The exposed cabin is a marvel of design, featuring over 400 layers of sustainably sourced teak laminated together. Leather-clad seats and door cards, along with bespoke analog dials, add to the bespoke charm of the Midsummer. Beneath the hood lies a BMW-sourced turbocharged six-cylinder engine, paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, ensuring spirited performance on the open road. Riding on 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, the Midsummer features adjustable Nitron dampers for a bespoke driving experience. Morgan aims for a dry weight of 1,000 kg, akin to its Plus Six counterpart. With an estimated price tag of around £200,000 per unit, the Midsummer offers discerning customers the opportunity for personalized luxury. The official unveiling is set to take place at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, coinciding with Morgan's 115th anniversary. Production is scheduled to commence later this year, with deliveries expected to conclude by 2025.
