Journey to Infinity

JOURNEY TO INFINITY (the last flight of the Cassandra I), is a short film piece that was created to explore the possibilities of an ongoing Steampunk serial. It was created June 24th, 2018 at the Cassandra 3 Airship Station in Spencerville, Ontario. An earlier YouTube clip shows the rehearsals and practice runs that were involved in getting ready. The overall goal was to produce a short introduction that could lead into a series of episodes dealing with various Steampunk Airships and the people involved with them. Part of the Aesthetics was to imitate the simple and open styles of the early silent movie cliff-hangers. It was more important that it look Fun, than it was to try and look Slick. This included not trying to hide the experimental look of the staging and leaving the green screen process a bit rough, (think of the staging of the play, Our Town and the film Dogville (2003)). If continued, this could eventually evolve into a modest vehicle for Steampunk story lines and ideas Lastly, thanks must go out to Cornelis & Alida Rutte and the Capital Steampunk Explorers for their time and efforts.
