The #1 plant pest that I get asked about all the time is not really a plant pest at all, but more of a nuisance...it's the dreaded fungus gnat. That little black fly that tends to buzz lazily around your plant pots and around your eyes and nose holes (and often mistaken for a fruit fly). Everyone who has emailed me or messaged me about this Dipteran has expressed their contempt for this little fly, which wants nothing more than to lay its eggs in some damp, organic soil so that its larvae can eat the fungus there. In this episode, I'll go over ways to prevent fungus gnats and six strategies for managing or eliminating them completely.
