Very lucky to have the latest CR-20 to review from Creality China – ShenZhen 3D printer technology at its best! Naomi Wu recently visited and reviewed the factory. The company ethics, customer support and quality control appear very good. The box arrived damaged on one corner (thanks postal service), but the packing was so good it didn’t affect the components inside! It’s easy to assemble with only 2 major assemblies and 6 screws to do-up. This printer offers great benefits over the previous models being 24v so the hot-bed heats up much faster (less waiting), the power supply is integrated into the base so there are no ugly ribbon cables and extra boxes. The build volume is 220x220x250 and the drive control circuits have been upgraded to allow the system to resume a print after a power failure. Bed levelling is also easier with large adjuster wheels. Note the Build Volume is slightly smaller than the CR-10. So, how easy is it to get going and print something? I’ve been working on designing a raspberry-pie laptop, I have taught myself basic FeedCAD, learnt how to create an STL file, and now need to slice the file for this printer using the included CURA software, generate the G-code and start the printer!
