Ch. 9. Program selection of washer-disinfector The four programs of the MELAG washer disinfectors provide maximum flexibility. The MELAtherm 10 Evolution tutorial shows you how to select the programs properly. You can choose between four programs for cleaning and disinfection. All program cycles include active drying in order to minimize the danger of recontamination, corrosion and instrument damage. The program selection depends on the degree of soiling and the medical field. Many medical and dental practices prefer decontamination in the Universal-Program. The instruments are cleaned and disinfected within only 42 minutes. The Intensive-Program has proven highly effective in decontaminating strongly soiled instruments. The extended cleaning time ensures an improved outcome. Please still comply with the specifications from the MELAtherm 10 Evolution tutorial “Information for preparing the instruments before program start”. The specialized Ophthalmo-Program has to be used for reprocessing ophthalmological instruments. Not using rinse aid and with further process adaptations, the program has been adapted to the especial requirements of this medical field. The MELAtherm 10 Evolution is available as a 400 Volt and as a 230 Volt version. The 230 Volt solution takes only 17 minutes longer than the cycle times demonstrated in the video.
