My reaction and review of Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern by Lil Ugly Mane, the first album under the Lil Ugly Mane name in 6 years! I first got into Lil Ugly Mane with the singular Third Side of Tape and I also enjoyed the more concise Oblivion Access very much. I've been meaning to hear Mista Thug Isolation for a long time, haven't got around to it yet but I have heard Uneven Compromise which I loved. Volcanic Bird Enemy and the Voiced Concern is a pretty huge departure from the usual heavy and negative material we've heard from Lil Ugly Mane before now. It sees him immersed in a world of psychedelia and, as the kids say, hypnagogic pop.
