Even though so many people are fawning over the Pope, as Biblical Christians we must remember that there’s no hope in the Pope. 1 John 4:1 instructs us to “try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” In verse 6 John makes a contrast between “the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” In this video, we obey 1 John 4 and discern whether or not the Roman Catholic Pope stands for truth or for error. We “try the spirits” of Catholicism to see whether it is of God. While there are many avenues from which we could approach this topic, let’s consider church authority, salvation through sacraments, and the position of Mary within the church...
