Warmset is compatible with several floor coverings including, but not limited to, the following: porcelain, ceramic and stone tile, engineered and laminate wood, resilient and vinyl flooring, carpet. Tile and stone are ideal types of flooring to use with Warmset. They are excellent heat conductors and do not expand and contract with heat and are highly resistant to warping or cracking; porcelain, ceramic or stone tiles are the best choice for floor coverings over radiant heating. Please check the R- value of floor coverings before installation. Floor coverings with low R-values allow greater heat output than do those with higher R-Values. Any floor covering that has an R- Value greater than 2 should only be considered when heat output requirements are low. The reduced thickness enables positioning even in situations where it is not possible to remove the existing floor, laying down the heater membrane directly over the old flooring and covering it with the new one, or where the space available for new installations and infloor heating is very low. The absence of heating ducts and radiators makes furniture placement easier and it's a better choice for people who suffer from allergies. The use of the heating system in the floor (WFHS) allows considerable freedom in furnishing spaces. The absence of radiators, fan coils, or other bulky devices, offers the possibility to freely position the interior design, with no restrictions on the use of space.
