Steve Walker and his sailing partner Julie sail in a Magnum 21 trimaran out to a new windfarm being built on the Constable Bank, 5 miles from Rhos-on-Sea in North Wales. The tug, Red Dolphin, appears to be standing guard over the pylons but it turns out to be only half way to them. Llandudno reveals itself then all but disappears over the horizon. Only one of the wind turbines is turning but sailing around and right underneath it is awe inspiring. The mast with bright flashing warning light on its top has been taken over by a score of cormorants or more. Sailing back downwind towards Rhos-on-Sea the spinnaker is hoisted and all the while the Great Orme and the mountains of Snowdonia form a magnificent backdrop. A great afternoon's sailing! You don't need to be hanging from a trapeze to enjoy sailing on a day like this.
