In this video I will be reviewing "Get Started in Cantonese" by Jacqueline Lam. This book is intended for complete beginners and will teach you Cantonese up to the basic level. I don't recommend anyone purchase this textbook because it is full of tonal and romanization errors! In a language like Cantonese, it is essential that the tones in the textbook are correct. I'm not sure if if the various errors in this book are a reflection of the author's oversight, or their unfamiliarity with the Yale Cantonese romanization system. In any case, this book is not yet fit for print and should be avoided at all costs.
