India has firmly denied Pakistani media claims that New Delhi refused airspace clearance for a Pakistani aircraft heading to Sri Lanka for humanitarian assistance. According to official sources, Pakistan submitted the request on December 1, 2025, at around 1 pm IST, and India approved it by 5:30 pm — granting clearance within just four hours. Despite this quick approval, Pakistani media falsely reported that India blocked the mission, delaying aid to flood-hit Sri Lanka. Indian officials clarified that all decisions related to overflight and transit permissions follow international procedures, operational norms and security assessments. They stressed that the approval was granted purely on humanitarian grounds, even though Pakistan continues to restrict Indian airlines from using its airspace.
