Learn how to create simple (or complex) notification popups using the excellent Convert Pro WordPress plugin Convert Pro: https://bit.ly/2WJVD0S Convert Pro is a WordPress plugin that allows you to create email lead generation opt-in popups. But it does a few other very useful things. As you can see here from the Convert pro sales page, it's an email opt-in and lead generation plugin for getting new subscribers but it also lets you do some other cool things like notification popups. You have a choice of multi-step popups, exit-intent popups and more. You can AB test these messages to try different variations to see which one works best. It works on mobile and desktop. And you can also target visitors based on time of day and via audiences. You can get really deep with this but I'm just going to show you how to use convert pro as a simple pop up to display a message to users. This is not a free plugin. It's a premium plugin. There are other options, but there are none that are quite as versatile as Convert Pro. So let's get straight into it. I'll just show you how to create a simple message on a website. In the Convert pro dashboard, we have three options. Click Create New! Now you've got various different options for pop-ups. “Modal pop up” is probably the most common. That's one that appears sort of in the middle of the page as an overlay. We can pick some pre-written templates here but they aren't really anything special. Pick a blank template to start from scratch. Click the cogwheel down the bottom left to adjust the size of the canvas. Yeah, that's probably better. We get a blank canvas with convert Pro. Many lead generation tools are quite fixed and rigid in how you add content. Convert pro lets you work with a blank canvas so you can do anything you like. To add a heading or an image or content, use the Elements form, the Buttons, and also shapes. In this case, we're just going to be really simple and add a heading. Guidelines will appear when you're moving any element around to show you when it’s centralized. Change the font style or leave it to inherit from the website’s default. It's best to keep it as “inherited” so that it’s the same font as used throughout the site. Add content below the heading. Pull across (click and hold) the paragraph element and drop it on the canvas. Make the text centre adjusted and increase the font size. Always put a “close button” image or a close button so that people know how to close the popup message. Put a button at the bottom to show people where they need to click. Add a URL for when somebody clicks on the contact button. Click on Action and open the “field action”. We're not submitting anything - it's not a form - so choose “Go To URL”. Add the URL. Click on Configure to set some settings for when this popup should appear. Set it to appear after one or two seconds. And just to know that you have many other options with Convert Pro such as “exit intent”, where when somebody goes to click off the screen or close the window, the popup or notification will appear. And you can set the notification to appear when visitors scroll at the end of a blog post. Adblock detection prompts visitors to turn off their ads. Click Save. And then click make Public. So it's published.
