Chapters: 0:00 Intro 0:07 Downtown 0:38 Boardwalk at Granite Park 0:59 Oak Point Nature Preserve 01:20 Legacy West 01:46 Texas Pool 1. Downtown Plano, Texas Downtown Plano has a lot to offer, but my favorite thing to do here is catch a live show at McCall Plaza. It’s a great open-air venue that showcases bands weekly and it really makes you feel like Plano has a lot going on downtown. Right across the street from the plaza is Haggard Park - a great spot to relax with a playground for the kids and big trees that provide much needed shade in the summer months. If you are looking to grab a drink or a bite to eat you should check out The Fillmore Pub, an iconic spot downtown that offers a friendly crowd and a unique atmosphere. Further down the strip you have rooftop bars, pizza restaurants and BBQ all waiting to satisfy your taste buds. What makes downtown Plano truly convenient, though, is Plano Station - this light rail station makes it very easy to get to downtown Dallas, offering commuters access to the surrounding cities. Plano’s train system has been giving commuters a ride to downtown Dallas since 1908 and more about the city’s train history can be found at the Interurban Railway Museum. Entry is free and there’s even an old train car you can check out. 2. Boardwalk at Granite Park Granite Park’s boardwalk is a great place to relax. It’s settled along a small pond with water fountains and cypress trees. It offers seven unique dining options with waterfront views and is located next to the Dallas North Tollway. Nearby you have hotels, restaurants and offices, making this a great venue for commuters or those living nearby. The boardwalk also has a pavilion where workout classes can be held, fire pits, murals and much more. Come savor all the flavors at this unique and entertaining venue. 3. Oak Point Nature Preserve This 800 acre parkland is the perfect place to escape the city buzz and go on a walk through tall trees. Oak Point features large ponds, giant woodland forests, an entertainment pavilion with stadium seating, beautiful meadows for those sunset walks and a friendly atmosphere for your dog to stretch their legs. Among my favorite and probably the best parks in Plano, this place is where I go to get away from it all and relax after a long day’s work. 4. Legacy West When you enter this district you’ll quickly get the feeling you are in the rich part of Plano. There are cool cars, people dressed up, and your favorite expensive brands all lining the street. If you like to people watch or spend lots of money, this place is your spot. But the best thing to do here is eat! And that means taking a step inside the giant Legacy Food Hall. It’s got outdoor seating with a stage for events, over 20 curated food stalls to satisfy your pallet and 5 full-service bars. This place makes for a nice place to grab a bite because the food options are endless! 5. Texas Pool The iconic and historic Texas shaped pool in Plano is famous and is even featured in the National Register of Historic Places. The pool opens starting Memorial Day, and it’s just $10 a day for a guest pass or $160 for a full season pass. That’s everything. I hope you enjoyed this list of all the fun things you can do in Plano, Texas! Stay tuned for more, and thanks for watching.
