[Video credit: Singapore Pavilion at COP30] At COP30 Singapore Pavilion in Belem, Brazil, SEAPAW convened experts to discuss how Southeast Asia can strengthen flood and coastal resilience. Christie Lee, SIF’s Director of Programmes, emphasised SEAPAW’s mission to co-create solutions that are actionable, locally grounded and globally relevant. The panel discussion was moderated by Dave Sivaprasad (Boston Consulting Group). He was joined by Amy Barnes (Marsh), Calvin Chong (Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Singapore), Prof Goh Hong Ching (Universiti Malaya), and Rueban Manokara (WWF). The panel stressed key priorities for the region, including treating resilience as a shared economic risk, improving risk recognition, advancing nature-based solutions, engaging communities and investing across sectors. The session also introduced the initial framing of the Flood Damage Reduction Roadmap, calling for coordinated, system-wide action on rising flood risks.
