In this video, I speak about the history of Budapest, Hungary, and the Buda Castle Hill district as I walk through the Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion, and Buda Castle. As I go through the monuments and statues, I speak about the history of Hungary. Buda Castle Hill District is a UNESCO Heritage Site that offers some of the best panoramic views of the city. Brief History: The state of Hungary came to be established when 7 tribes ventured from Central Asia to settle around the banks of the river Danube. It was around 900 BC. Hungary is pretty much a Catholic Christian country. So, many parts of the history of Hungary involve battles with Islamic Ottoman or Turkish rulers. Some of the prominent Hungarian personalities are Saint Stephen I, Matthias Corvinus, and Szechenyi. The 16th and 17th-century history of Hungary revolves around the war between Habsburg kings with Ottoman rulers. Following that there was the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, World Wars, and the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
