This video was inspired by a conversation with one of my lovely US subscribers, Nina Johnson, who shared how hard it’s become since the Government shutdown, to afford even the basics for cleaning and personal care. I’ve put together some gentle, simple, and frugal ideas using everyday items you might already have at home, to help stretch what you have and still feel clean and cared for. Remember, you’re not alone in this. We’ll get through tough times together, one small, kind step at a time. 🌸 🌸 Tammy’s Timeless Tips Cleaning Recipes 🌸 All made with safe, everyday items you might already have at home. 💙 NOTE - “Baking soda” and “bicarb” are the same thing — just different names in different countries. ________________________________________ 🌿 PERSONAL HYGIENE 🌸 Gentle Hand & Body Wash You’ll need: A few drops of dish soap (any kind), 1 bowl of warm water. How to use: Mix a few drops of dish soap into warm water. Use a cloth or sponge to wash hands or body. Rinse well. 🌸 Oatmeal Skin Cleanser You’ll need: 1–2 tablespoons plain oats, warm water, a washcloth or clean sock. How to use: Put oats in the cloth or sock and tie the end. Soak in warm water for a few minutes. Squeeze out milky water and gently wash your skin. 🌸 Simple Tooth Cleanser You’ll need: A pinch of baking soda (also called bicarb). How to use: Dip a damp toothbrush into baking soda. Brush gently and rinse. 🌸 Natural Deodorant Substitute You’ll need: A tiny pinch of baking soda (bicarb), optional drop of water. How to use: Pat a very small amount under each arm. Test first if sensitive. 🌸 Hair Shampoo Use normally if you have some. Running low? Dilute 1–2 drops in a little water and apply to the scalp first, then lather. No shampoo? A tiny drop of dish soap can be used in an emergency. Rinse thoroughly. 🌸 Hair Conditioner Conditioner softens hair and reduces tangles. If out, use a small amount of coconut oil on the ends or mix 1 teaspoon baking soda (bicarb) in 1 cup water as a gentle rinse. Rinse thoroughly. ________________________________________ 🏠 HOME CLEANING 🌸 Laundry in a Pinch You’ll need: Half your usual detergent OR a few drops of dish soap (Add ½ cup baking soda (bicarb) if clothing is heavily soiled). How to use: Use less detergent to make it last. Add baking soda for extra cleaning if clothing is heavily soiled. Only 2–3 drops of dish soap if using. 🌸 All-Purpose Cleaner You’ll need: 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup water, optional few drops dish soap, lemon juice, or vanilla extract. How to use: Mix in a spray bottle or bowl. Use on sinks, counters, bathrooms, and mirrors. Avoid marble/granite. 🌸 Simple Floor Cleaner You’ll need: Warm water, small squeeze dish soap or ½ cup vinegar. How to use: Mix in a bucket. Use a cloth, towel, or mop to clean floors. Let dry. 🌸 Fresh Home Scent You’ll need: Pot of water, optional lemon/orange peels, cinnamon stick, or a drop of vanilla extract. How to use: Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes to freshen the air. ________________________________________ 💌 FROM ME TO YOU - With love, Tammy 🌸 #useconomy, #frugalliving, #simpleliving, #budgetfriendly, #lowcostcleaning, #cleaninghacks, #homemadecleaners, #naturalcleaning, #diycleaning, #frugalhygiene, #moneysavingtips, #thriftyliving, #minimalistliving, #makeitstretch, #backtobasics, #selfcareonabudget, #simplelife, #gentlecleaning, #austeritytips, #budgetbeauty, #everypennycounts, #cleanwithme, #frugaltips, #sustainableliving, #oldfashionedwisdom, #tammystimelesstips
