Lorandt explains how Würth Elektronik will measure the peak pulse characteristic of SMD-Ferrites. The pulse tester is used to apply a pulse up to 100 A and in 8 ms pulse length to the component. Furthermore, it shows what consequences too strong impulses can have. Würth Elektronik is aware that the comparison to the standard product is somewhat exaggerated. The component was intentionally chosen in order to show the effect of having too high pulse. The MPSB has on average 40-60 % better pulse performance than the standard industrial products.
