Alex Johnson is the 7th University Carillonist of the University of Chicago. In this role, he regularly plays the 72-bell 100-ton Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial Carillon. He also teaches the 20 students of the UChicago Guild of Carillonists in weekly lessons and masterclasses. Previously, Alex has taught carillon at the University of Texas at Austin. He studied carillon at the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn" in Mechelen, Belgium and at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida. In 2019, Alex won 1st Prize the most prestigious carillon competition, the 8th International Queen Fabiola Carillon Competition. Program ------------------------------------- I.
