PM Modi Inaugurates Noida International Airport, Highlights India's Aviation Growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport in Jewar, involving the public in the ceremony by asking attendees to turn on their mobile phone flashlights. He highlighted that this airport will benefit the regions of Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Etawah, Bulandshahr and Faridabad, and will serve as a major hub for Western Uttar Pradesh's farmers, small industries and youth. Modi emphasised that Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest state, now has one of the highest numbers of international airports in India. He thanked farmers who gave up their land for the project and noted that the airport, first approved in 2003 during Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government, saw no progress under previous Congress and Samajwadi Party governments. The Prime Minister also announced that a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility will be developed at Jewar.
