The city was inhabited by people who spoke Polish as a first language, but it was also home to significant Jewish and Ruthenian minorities. At the turn of the 20th century, Lemberg would become an important centre for the Polish, Ukrainian and Jewish national movements. How did these ethnic groups get along then?
