Teaching young horses about loading, unloading and learning to stand on the lorry at home is so important for me. Giving them chance to learn all this in their home environment where they are more confident and feel safe can really benefit you in the future. Building on good experiences each time you practice hopefully sets you up well for when the day comes and you go to a show. Every horse copes in different ways and some times the best of help can be tricky but if you’re lucky and get your horse young and un damaged and you get your homework in you’re set for life! There is nothing worse than hours trying to load or being towed off the lorry at speed, or getting to a show and listening to scrapping and kicking till you get them off…!
