Restoration of a very rusty small Vise, in this video I will restore rusty Vise that was found by my friend with a metal detector in old village, their condition is very bad, all is Deadlocked all screws are rusted and two of them missing, so I used my old good Firm Lathe, you will also see how to make screw (round screws) from standard ones, steel spring is broken so I make a new one spring from piece of car leaf spring, some parts are rusted thru like thread on clamping mechanism so I cut off rusty part and weld new one, removed all the pins and totally disassembled all parts, locking mechanism was taken from the old broken vices and restored, a kind of mini restoration came out. This vise consists of two parts which are fixed by screws, you will see this in video, one has little anvil. I polished all the particles by using different sandpaper to a mirror finish. It was not easy to make an 16 minute video with that many little things and to show almost all the restoration process and tricks I was using. At first I thought I would finish this project in a few days, but when started - realized how I was wrong, when my girl saw me all in the dust and rust, she barely recognized me :) Also I argued with a friend that would make them as new in what he did not believe. This restoration lasted 2 weeks, I made a lot of effort to make them shine the work was precise and accurate. I was impressed with the end result and pleased with this project. I hope you will like my work and the video if so then put the likes, write your comments and do not forget to Subscribe :) Rusted Tiny Vise - Perfect Restoration Cautions: Always wear a hand protection while working with Power Tools .
