SPEAKERS ▶Matt Angle (CEO, Paradromics) ▶Anna Wexler (Assistant Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at UPenn) ▶Karen Rommelfanger (Neurotech Ethicist, Strategist, and Associate Professor at Emory) ▶Ana Maiques (CEO of Neuroelectrics) ▶Stephanie Naufel Thacker (Technical Program Manager at Facebook Reality Labs) Neuroethics is an area of study dedicated to understanding the social and ethical implications arising from advances in neuroscience and neurotechnology. While the term "neuroethics" may remain ill-defined, it serves as a common label for diverse interests concerning the brain and its related technologies. The field often grapples with fundamental questions, such as the relationship between the brain and concepts like emotion, identity, and personhood. Practically, neuroethics addresses the ethical considerations surrounding developing technologies like implanted medical devices, wearable technologies, and Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs), especially as they relate to direct-to-consumer health technology, or systems for augmented and virtual reality. Rather than being merely a source of constraining compliance or "red tape," experts suggest that neuroethics should be viewed as a problem-solving tool that enhances innovation and creativity within the neurotechnology space. Paradromics builds brain-computer interface (BCI) technologies for seamless human-technology integration, restoring and enhancing human capabilities. https://www.paradromics.com/ #Neuroethics #WhatisNeuroethics #BCIEthics
