Does a Smaller Aperture (Larger f-Number) Create Sharper Images? A Photography Misconception

There is a misconception in photography saying that a smaller aperture automatically creates sharper images. This image will prove that this is not true. While a bigger f-number (smaller aperture) does increase sharpness to a certain point, when you pass that point, the image sharpness will decrease. Keep that in mind when taking your pictures. I encourage you to take test shots yourself because every lens has a different aperture that will create the sharpest image. Usually, that is around f8-f11, but it can be different with your particular lens. So make sure to know your equipment and do some test to get the best possible photograph.
