Practicing on this beautiful Arabic instrument called Nay (also found in Turkey as Ney, similar to the Kawala and the Romanian Caval). This one is a Kiz Ney (B) and it's made of metal instead of reed (the maker is Simone Horus). I love the sound because it is very clean, almost like the silver flute which I also play. Actually, sometimes I think it sounds better than the flute - you will see when I cover Titanic. At the same time, it does have the breathiness that gives the Ney its charm. It isn''t the easiest instrument to play, but I find that it's easier to get a very clean sound from it that from the silver or concert flute, because on the flute, you can almost never get the sound a professional player will have, if you don't have time to practice for 2-4 hours each day, which is hard if you're not a musician. But on the Ney, I feel that a clear and beautiful sound can be attained if you're passionate about it, and also you can get more nuances out of it. You can even play two octaves at once. More soon! For each cover I make, I create backing tracks in 3 different keys, most suitable for: recoder and flute (usually C or Am) Tin Whistle violin (can be A, G etc.). I also create separate versions for practice and recording yourself (making a cover): with metronome (click track) with beautiful woodblock sound with a low-volume solo for guidance without the solo so only your instrument can be heard Get BACKING TRACKS and MEDITATION MUSIC! 🎵 ► Join My Patreon Community: / focusandsound
