Maligayang Bagong Taon!! ☺️🇵🇭💕 Kundiman is probably my favorite Filipino genre to pull up because of how romantic it is 🥰 our traditional love song songbook that dates back to the Harana Era in the 1800s also became really popular during the 1930s-1970s. I always like to think, while America was jammin’ to jazz standards during this time - we were boppin to Maria Clara 💁🏻‍♀️ Either that or some guy was serenading a woman with his guitar… 😏🎸 What do you get when you mix Filipino Folk music with Spanish Guitar and a little bit of Mexican Mariachi?
