For this episode, we got back together with some of our friends to record a trio of songs with Luna and the Mountain Jets, live at Blaine Elementary, from her albums "Telling Stories" and "Luna." “A Pepsi Girl in a Coca Cola town” is the best way to describe Luna of Luna and the Mountain Jets. She wasn’t like her 8 siblings, much to her mother’s chagrin. Raised in the small town of Martha Kentucky, her dad made a meager living in the oil industry and her mother was a homemaker. There wasn’t money to go places and do things, however Luna was transported by the music on AM radio and television shows like Friday Night Special and Band Stand. Long bus rides to school allowed her and her friends to sing songs to pass the time. This passion for singing stayed with her into adulthood. Luna’s music is rooted in stories from her life and experiences. She calls it “Appalachian Rock” as it is a mix of folk stories backed by rock and roll drums and guitars. - Three Sheets to the wind is a session video series based out of central Kentucky, which seeks to create artistic, visually innovative performance based video content in collaboration with the key members of the regional music community. - Directed by Zach Curry Cinematography by Sanford Weakley Sound by Perry Wesley Sound assist by Cody Fee Camera operation by Zach Curry, Sanford Weakley, Joey Howard, Reeve Daulton, Wils Quinn Edited by Reeve Daulton Color by Sanford Weakley Guitar/Vocals by Teresa Prince Guitar by David Prince Bass by Kenny Miles Drums by Hayden Miles - Three sheets and a Cover is an iteration on the project we've been developing for a few years.
