Equity in health. Diverse genomes. Genomics in skincare. Career pathways. Hands-on genomics. AI and bioinformatics. Day 3 of the CoGSAYR Summit 2026 brought the Summit to a powerful close with conversations centered on inclusion, innovation and the practical skills needed to advance genomics and bioinformatics in Africa. From keynote reflections on equity and diverse genomes to career spotlights, workshops and hands-on sessions spanning pathogen genomics, cancer biomarkers, AI-powered precision medicine, and beginner Python for bioinformatics, Day Three focused on building capacity for impact. About CoGSAYR The Consortium of Genomics Students and Young Researchers in Africa (CoGSAYR) is an organization established to encourage enthusiasm and involvement among young medical professionals in genomic research. Recognizing the critical need to address the gap in African genomic data, CoGSAYR aims to create a collaborative platform that empowers the next generation of scientists and clinicians to make significant contributions to genomic research within the African context.
