I just want to keep this here on Youtube so that I can listen to it and be reminded of the stories. And I considered keeping it private and just for my own ears, but in case anyone else wants to hear the great storyteller Robin Wall Kimmerer, she says these stories NEED to be passed on. and I agree. I'm sorry the video is not flashy and exciting and you may click onwards if this isn't what you are looking for. Our children need to hear these stories as they form their beliefs about the world and decide what kind of person to become. I don't mean to infringe, but the author, Robin Wall Kimmerer, The greatest naturalist biologist native american voice, does condone this. It is recorded with my 8 year old son in mind, and his friends, who have heard and benefitted from the stories i expose them to. Thank you. This is what congress should recite before making major decisions. Starting gatherings off at agreement about foundational truths will help our country heal the massive divide. Instead of a pledge of allegiance to our "nation, with liberty and justice for all" which is an ideal that many cannot attain, we could pledge gratitude for the plants and animals that feed us, the water that quenches are thirst, medicine and medicine keepers, and storytellers and everything else we need for survival. This is from Robin Wall Kimmerer's book, "Braiding Sweetgrass." Please read it. It's amazing, just like her "Gathering Moss." She is my hero, my idol, and I am so so so grateful for her work translating botany and anthropology into a readable and mind expansive narrative.
